Welcome to Nutrition Services!

A NOTE TO PARENTS: Meal Price Increase for the 2019/2020 School Year

Regulation 7 CFR 210.14(e) requires school food authorities to charge students for paid lunch meals (who do not qualify for free or reduced meals) a price that is not less than equal to the difference between the free Federal lunch reimbursement rate which is currently $3.39.  Due also to the continued increases in food and labor costs, it has become necessary to increase our paid meal prices and abide by regulation 7 CFR 210.14(e). Menifee USD is still below the current reimbursement rate even with the meal price increase for the 2019/20 school year. See the Meal Price Increase 2019/20 below for more information.

At the elementary sites a second lunch entrée choice is offered 3 days a week, Monday through Wednesday unless a holiday occurs on one of these days.  It is our desire that both options are available throughout the entire lunch period, however this is not guaranteed.  The main entrée listed will be available the entire lunch and the second option may not be.

Thank you,

Nutrition Services Staff

Important Information About our NEW MEAL CHARGE POLICY (Spanish)

In an effort to link student health and learning with a comprehensive program promoting healthy eating and physical activity for student's, the District's Wellness Committee has developed a MUSD Student Wellness Policy which aligns us with current Federal guidelines. The Wellness Policy affects what food can be sold and/or marketed on campus by groups, such as PTAs, PTOs, Booster Clubs, and ASBs, as well as food that can be brought onto campus & into the classroom for celebrations or any other occasions. The new MUSD Wellness Policy went into effect July 1, 2019. See the Wellness tab for more information.
